New Zealand quake causes ‘billions of dollars in damage’

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said that the 7.5-magnitude earthquake that struck north of Christchurch on Monday caused “a couple of billion” dollars in damage, Bloomberg reports. The quake, which damaged buildings and infrastructure and killed two people, was followed by dozens of aftershocks. "One thing we can say with certainty: there will be more earthquakes to come," said seismic monitoring agency GeoNet.
