Australia to extend natural disaster cover to Asia Pacific

The Australian insurance industry and the government plan to extend natural disaster cover to the Asia Pacific region, Asia Insurance Review reported citing The Australian. Australia plans to get more actively involved in the Insurance Development Forum, which aims to extend insurance to governments in developing countries. "The Australian government will continue to consult the insurance industry, including IDF members, on overcoming the specific challenges in the Pacific," said an Australian government spokeswoman.
