Aspen Insurance acquires Puerto Rican marine insurer

Bermuda-based property/casualty insurer Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. has acquired Puerto Rico-based marine insurer Blue Waters Insurers, The Royal Gazette reports. The acquisition will expand Aspen's global marine business by opening up new markets in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. David Cohen, president of Aspen, said Blue Waters "adds local, technical expertise to support Aspen Insurance's expansion by delivering localized service to a new geography."
