Shipping accidents decline

The number of ship accidents reported to U.K.'s Marine Accident Investigation Branch fell in 2015, World Maritime News reports.

There were 1,057 casualties and incidents in 2015, compared to 1,270 in 2014. MAIB added that there were 646 accidents involving 744 commercial vessels that included actual or potential casualties to vessels. No U.K. merchant vessel of over 100 gross tons was lost for the sixth year in a row.
