CNA Financial Corp. on Thursday said it has increased limits for umbrella and excess accounts to $50 million.

The increased capacity will be available on a lead or excess basis, the insurer said in a statement. Prior to this increase, available limits went up to $25 million, a CNA spokesman said Thursday in an emailed statement.

“Our customers asked for broader forms and additional capacity, and we are pleased to deliver both,” Chicago-based Michael Kirchgessner, vice president of umbrella and excess underwriting, said in the statement.
