President Barack Obama has proposed providing federal funding to states to combat opioid addiction and abuse. The funding, if approved, would be divvied up based on the severity of each state's opioid epidemic.

Here are the states with the 10 worst drug poisoning rates, according to 2014 federal data, as well as the funding they would receive under President Obama's original proposal.
