Berkshire specialty unit adds to Canada offerings

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Co. on Wednesday said it has launched new executive and professional lines products for financial institutions in Canada.

In a statement, BHSI said the new products include: Financial Institution Bonds, including manuscript/enhanced forms 14, 24, 25 for Canada and fiduciary bonds; Professional First Asset Manager Liability Insurance for hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and other investment funds and firms; Professional First Bankers Professional Liability Insurance for banking and lending institutions, including credit unions; Professional First Insurance Company Professional Liability Insurance for property/casualty and life insurance companies.

In addition, Toronto-based Andrew Knight has been named national director of financial institutions, executive and professional lines in Canada. Previously, Mr. Knight was director and FPC national practice leader of financial institutions, at Chubb Ltd., according to the statement.
