Flood damage likely to multiply due to climate change: Study

A new study has said that flood-related losses are likely to increase considerably in Germany due to climate change, reported Phys.org.

The study said that flood-related damage, which is currently about €500 million ($552 million) a year, could multiply in the future without appropriate adaptation. The damage costs from floods in the future "could be even higher than previously thought," said Fred Hattermann, lead author of the study.
