Insurer Suramericana seeks to strengthen Latin American operations with RSA acquisition
Posted On: Jul. 11, 2016 12:00 AM CSTColombian insurer Suramericana S.A. seeks to establish a strong presence in Latin America following the acquisition of British insurer RSA Insurance Group P.L.C.'s operations in the region, reported BNamericas citing Portafolio.
Gonzalo Perez, Suramericana's chief executive for South America, said that the group now has an established pool of 15.7 million customers in the region and a staff of 13,000 people in nine countries.
The acquisition has added RSA's offices in Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia to Sura's existing operations in El Salvador, Panama and Dominican Republic.
