XL Catlin expands marine team, snags from rivals

XL Catlin said on Thursday that it has expanded its inland marine business in the U.S. by adding six senior marine underwriters in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas and New York.

Chicago-based Janelle Levesque joins from Chubb Ltd.where she was an underwriter for inland marine. San Francisco-based Frank Basich was a senior inland marine underwriter at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. San Francisco-based Anda Serban was an inland marine underwriting specialist at CNA Financial Corp. San Francisco-based Zac Miyashiro was a senior ocean marine underwriter at Chubb Ltd. Dallas-based Shawn Langenegger joins from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where he was inland marine team leader. New York-based Paul Vogler was executive underwriter at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., XL Catlin said in the statement.

“Industry statistics indicate these regions have the highest concentration of available commercial inland marine premium,” Michael Perrotti, senior vice president and XL Catlin’s inland marine practice leader said in the statement.
