Interim CEO wins the job at Crawford

Crawford & Co. on Wednesday named Harsha V. Agadi as president and CEO of the claims management company.

Mr. Agadi has served as interim president and CEO of Atlanta-based Crawford since August, when Jeffrey Bowman stepped down after nearly eight years at the helm.

In August, the claims manager said Mr. Agadi, a Crawford board member since 2010, was to be interim CEO while Crawford searched for Mr. Bowman's replacement. A Crawford spokeswoman said Wednesday that Mr. Bowman's departure was “a mutual decision” between him and the board.

“During Harsha's interim leadership period, he made some tough but necessary changes that helped move Crawford toward profitable growth,” Charles H. Ogburn, Crawford's nonexecutive chairman of the board, said in a company statement Wednesday. “He thinks strategically and has the results-oriented approach necessary to help us navigate through an expanding and ever-evolving industry. After conducting a comprehensive search over the past few months, we have chosen the right leader to take Crawford & Co. into the future.”

Mr. Agadi also is chairman of Farmington, Michigan-based GHS Holdings L.L.C., an investing and consulting business. He will remain on Crawford's board.

Crawford is the second-largest third-party administrator, according to Business Insurance's latest ranking, with $1.22 billion in 2014 gross revenue.
