Workers comp insurer names vice president and CIO

Workers compensation insurer The Memic Group has named Portland, Maine-based John R. Yao senior vice president and chief information officer, Memic said in a Monday statement.

In this role Mr. Yao will oversee the development, implementation and security of Memic's information systems and technology, according to the statement.

Mr. Yao succeeds Gary Baxter who now serves as executive vice president and chief information officer at PS It Matters.

Previously, Mr. Yao was director of applications development at Aetna Inc.
