Quake payouts top $2.9 billion
Posted On: Jun. 17, 2016 12:00 AM CSTThe General Insurance Association of Japan has said that insurance payouts for damage to dwellings from the April earthquakes that hit Kumamoto Prefecture have now topped $2.9 billion, reported Artemis.bm.
Payouts from both Japanese and foreign nonlife insurers have increased 13% in a week. About 82% of the claims have been paid out to policyholders, the association said.
