Minister hints at rising earthquake insurance pricing

Gerry Brownlee, minister for New Zealand's Earthquake Commission, has hinted at rising premiums, reported Stuff.co.nz.

Mr. Brownlee said that the commission’s earthquake prices were "quite low compared to what it might be if it was [a] private sector” operator. He said that the rising storms and flooding event in Australia called for a scheme similar to EQC in the nation.
