Insurer appoints new head of property for Canada

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty has named Toronto-based John Hastings head of property for Canada, the insurer said in a Thursday statement.

Mr. Hastings will be responsible for managing and expanding Canada’s corporate property portfolio, developing the underwriting strategy and expanding relationships with distribution partners, according to the statement.

Previously, Mr. Hastings was director of key client management for Allianz Global in Canada, according to the statement.

He succeeds Brad Steele who now serves as vice president, national property at Liberty International Underwriters.
