Strait of Malacca removed from war risk zone list

The Lloyd's Market Association Joint War Committee has removed the Strait of Malacca from a war risk zone list, reported The Sun Daily.

Malaysia's defense minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said that the move will lower insurance premiums for shipping firms operating in the strait.

Mr. Hussein also said that joint efforts by Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia had considerably reduced piracy incidences in the strait.
