French floods could cost up to $1.6 billion: Insurance association

French insurance industry association AFA said that the recent floods in the country could cost between €900 million ($1 billion) and €1.4 billion, reported Reuters.

The floods followed by heavy rains caused huge devastation across several parts of the nation. AFA said that up to 150,000 people could be hit due to the floods.
