Insurance tab from recent floods in France expected to exceed $2 billion

Pascal Demurger, an official at French mutual insurers' group the MAIF, has said that the insurance industry bill from the recent flooding and storms in the nation will be about €2 billion ($2.26 billion) or more, Artemis.bm reports.

More than 43,000 claims have been lodged so far and the number is increasing. Insurers Macif and Covea Mutual Insurance Group Co. are said to be most exposed to the floods so far.
