Finnish media firm Sanoma attacked by Russian cyber-espionage group Sofacy
Posted On: May. 31, 2016 12:00 AM CSTJapanese security software firm Trend Micro Inc. has said that Russian cyber-espionage group Sofacy has tried to hack into data communications of Finnish media company Sanoma O.Y.J., yle reported.
The attack most likely occurred in August 2015.
"In late April, we were informed by the National Cyber Security Centre Finland of a cyber-espionage campaign aimed at targets including Sanoma," said a Sanoma official.
A similar attack was attempted on Veli-Pekka Kivimäki, a Finnish member of civic journalists group Bellingcat.
