Lloyd's, U.K. Met Office, Guy Carpenter to develop agriculture weather index for Southeast Asia

Lloyd's of London Ltd., the U.K. Met Office and reinsurance brokerage Guy Carpenter & Co. L.L.C. are working towards developing the concept of an agriculture weather index that can be used for insurance in Southeast Asia, reports Artemis.bm.

The three organizations are conducting a research to prove the concept of an agricultural weather index.

The research will focus on Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Lloyd's is expected to release a report on the project within the next few months.
