Daimler to set aside $561 million in 2016 for airbag recall

German automaker Daimler A.G. has said that it plans to set aside about €500 million ($561 million) in 2016 for the recall of vehicles featuring Japanese automobile parts maker Takata Corp.'s airbags, Reuters reported.

The automaker said that it would make precautionary recalls in Canada and the United States. The provision is not expected to affect the company's operating profit for 2016, added Daimler.
