British Airways loses $144,030 in cyber attack

A U.K. court has heard that airline operator British Airways P.L.C. lost around £100,000 ($144,030) in revenue when Paul Dixon, a hacker, disabled its website, Mirror.co.uk reported.

Mr. Dixon conducted a denial of service attack taking down the airline's website for an hour.

The hacker is also accused of disabling the websites of Cex Webuy Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Durham Constabulary.

CeX lost between £400 and £500 due to the attack, which was carried out from an address in South Shields between Oct. 16, 2014, and Oct. 26, 2014.
