Ohio has announced a new administrator and CEO for the state's workers compensation bureau.

Sarah Morrison, who has been acting in the position for a month, will officially replace the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation's former administrator and CEO, Steve Buehrer, who recently stepped down from the position, Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich said Tuesday in a statement.

“Sarah has been an important part of the BWC leadership team that helped drive our state's workplace injury rate below the national average and provided Ohio businesses with $4.3 billion in rate cuts, rebates and credits. I am confident she will build on that record of achievement and continue BWC's work to strengthen Ohio's business environment,” the governor said in the release.

Ms. Morrison was the bureau's chief legal officer before being named acting CEO.
