W.R. Berkley expands in Asia with new unit

U.S.-based W.R. Berkley Corp. has expanded its international presence with the establishment of Berkley Insurance Asia, reported Asia Insurance Review.

Berkley Insurance Asia will offer specialty commercial insurance coverage to clients in North Asia and Southeast Asia through offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, respectively. W.R. Berkley said that Shasi Gangadharan and Aaron Yip have been appointed as chief executive and chief operating officer of Berkley Insurance Asia, respectively, with immediate effect.
