BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

AF Group has announced the appointments of a new president and executive vice president/chief operating officer, effective immediately.

Lisa Corless will serve as president and Bryan Bogardus will serve as executive vice president and chief operating officer, according to a Friday statement by the Lansing, Michigan-based workers compensation insurance provider, whose subsidiaries include Accident Fund Insurance Co. of America, United Heartland, CompWest Insurance Co. and Third Coast Underwriters.

AF Group CEO Elizabeth Haar previously served as the company's president. However, her duties expanded in March when she assumed the role of executive vice president and president of emerging markets for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, an AF Group spokesman said Friday.

Ms. Corless, who joined AF Group in 2013, previously served as senior vice president, chief administration officer and chief of staff, according to the statement.

And as president of CompWest since 2011, Mr. Bogardus led the company “through a successful turnaround effort in the highly challenging California workers compensation market,” the statement says.

“AF Group has been highly successful in providing workers compensation insurance for more than a century, and it is due in large part to the talented and visionary leadership team that has met the challenges of our changing industry,” Ms. Haar said in the statement. “Both Lisa and Bryan are committed to excellence and innovation and will lead a new era of growth and diversification for our organization.”
