Air New Zealand Ltd. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit in the United States for $35 million, reports SBS.

The lawsuit alleged that the airline participated in a cartel to fix fuel and security surcharges between 2000 and 2006.

Air NZ has, however, not admitted being part of the alleged conspiracy as part of the settlement.

The lawsuit was filed in 2006 on behalf of six freight forwarders against almost 30 airlines across the world.

Air India Ltd. is now the only airline standing in the class action suit.
