All 13 passengers presumed dead in oil rig helicopter crash off Norway coast

Rescue officials said that a helicopter carrying two crew and 11 passengers from Norway's Gullfaks B oil platform crashed in the North Sea, apparently killing all 13 people on board, reports Reuters.

Norway's Statoil A.S.A., which operates the Gullfaks B, suspended production at the platform following the crash.

The helicopter, an Airbus Helicopters H225 Super Puma, was operated by Canada's CHC Helicopter S.A.

Airbus grounded the whole commercial fleet of this type of helicopter, 70% of which is used to support the global oil industry.
