Long-time insurance exec partners with Women in the Boardroom

Women in the Boardroom said it has entered into a partnership with TL Schugel & Associates Inc., a Minneapolis-based consulting firm headed by insurance and reinsurance industry veteran Theresa Schugel.

New York-based Women in the Boardroom is a global organization “committed to translating the intellect, skills and expertise of their members into inaugural or additional powerful corporate director roles,” according to the group’s website.

Ms. Schugel, a former executive vice president and leader of the specialty casualty practice of BMS Group Ltd. in Minneapolis and a former senior vice president at Aon P.L.C., said in an interview Thursday that the group has “very few reinsurance and insurance company members.” She said she will help the organization grow its corporate membership in the insurance and reinsurance area.

"With this partnership, we want to help women in the re/insurance industry prepare for corporate board service, make connections and broaden their opportunities," Women in the Boardroom CEO and founder Sheila Ronning said Wednesday in a statement.
