Aspen hires underwriters for Dubai hub

Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. has appointed senior underwriting managers for its new Dubai reinsurance operation as it seeks to expand in the Middle East and Africa, reported Bloomberg.

Peter Thompson, Attilio Tornetta and Houcine Zouaoui will join Aspen from Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., Swiss Re Ltd. and Gulf Reinsurance Ltd., respectively. Aspen Re’s chief executive Stephen Postlewhite said the region "offers significant opportunities for profitable growth and we look forward to serving our clients in Dubai and beyond”.
