Insurer Oil Casualty Insurance diversifying into non-energy business

Bermuda-based Oil Casualty Insurance Ltd. is diversifying into non-energy areas as it aims to strengthen by widening its risk exposures, reported The Royal Gazette.

The mutual insurer and reinsurer started writing non-energy lines in October 2015.

Jerry Rivers, chief operating officer of OCIL, said that OCIL has been writing management liability insurance and has added three directors and officers insurance accounts.

Mr. Rivers said that the recent appointment of Natasha Pethick as a property underwriter would strengthen OCIL's expertise in non-energy areas.
