E.U. cuts capital requirements on insurers' infrastructure investments
Posted On: Apr. 4, 2016 12:00 AM CSTThe European Union has cut capital requirements on insurers in order to spur their investment in long-term infrastructure projects, reported Bloomberg.
The European Commission said that capital charges for insurers' unlisted equity shares in projects such as transport links and energy pipelines will fall to 30% from 49% from April 2.
The charges for investment in infrastructure debt will be cut by about 40%, the European Commission said.
