European windstorm exposures hit $61 trillion

European windstorm exposures have increased by 4.5% to hit €54 trillion ($61 trillion) in the Perils A.G. Industry Exposure Database in 2016, reported Artemis.bm.

The European Windstorm risk is the biggest exposure in the Perils IED with €54 trillion of insured property values.

This is the first time that the Perils IED has included Turkish perils, with the addition of both Turkey flood and earthquake sums insured information.
