Russian court upholds ruling over insurance payout for 2012 Superjet crash
Posted On: Mar. 29, 2016 12:00 AM CSTA Russian district court has upheld lower courts' ruling that ordered 20 foreign insurers to pay around $16 million to insurer Kapital Strakhovaniye O.A.O. over the Superjet 100 aircraft crash in Indonesia in May 2012, RAPSI reported.
Starr Insurance and Reinsurance Ltd., Swiss Re Europe S.A., Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. and General Insurance Corp. of India are among the defendants.
Kapital Strakhovaniye had initially claimed $32.4 million in damages from insurers, but after partial payments were made the amount was reduced to $16 million.
