BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Former Mercer L.L.C. executive Michael Sternklar has taken the helm as CEO at Schaumburg, Illinois-based benefits enrollment and exchange provider Benefit Express Services L.L.C.

Mr. Sternklar was appointed by private equity firm LLR Partners, which said Tuesday in a statement that it invested in Benefit Express Services, which does business as benefitexpress.

A spokeswoman for LLR Partners declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Mr. Sternklar previously headed Mercer’s North American benefits outsourcing business, according to the statement. He most recently was head of global sales and regional management with NGA Human Resources.

Mr. Sternklar replaces benefitexpress founder and President Maria Bradley, who will remain with the company as a senior adviser and member of its board of directors.

“Maria Bradley and her management team have leveraged tremendous industry knowledge and experience to build a market-leading benefits administration platform, further distinguished by exceptional services capabilities and a loyal customer base,” Mr. Sternklar said in the statement. “Now with the capital and strategic support of LLR Partners, I am confident that benefitexpress can accelerate new opportunities in this emerging space. I look forward to steering that growth.”
