Tugboat losses rising

Tugboat losses in Canada's west coast increased significantly in 2015, reported The Maritime Executive.

Six tugs sank in nine incidents involving vessels in 2015, while only two tugs sank out of 11 incidents in 2014. "A very rapid and unusual ingress of water" is the common scenario in the sinking, said Mariella Dauphinee, a marine claims manager for Intact Insurance Co. "
