Air Zimbabwe seeks insurers after scandal

After a much-publicized insurance scam at Air Zimbabwe Ltd., the airline will start fresh by holding a bid for insurers to cover its fleet, reported NewsDay Zimbabwe‎.

"Tenders are invited from companies of international standing in the aviation insurance industry with at least a credit rating of 'A' to submit proposals," the airline said in a notice. An audit found that senior managers at the airline had taken part in the looting of millions of dollars through the insurance scam, resulting in the conviction of airlines secretary, Grace Pfumbidzayi who was slapped with a seven-year jail term with hard labor.
