Chicago-based Safety National Casualty Corp. said that its new unit, Safety Specialty Insurance Co., will begin operations in March.
Law enforcement liability, public officials liability and educators legal liability coverage will be offered through Safety Specialty, Safety National said in a statement Thursday.
“Not only does the formation of Safety Specialty provide a greater ability to address the needs of our public entity broker partners and clients, as a nonadmitted carrier it also provides greater form and coverage flexibility for new product development,” Mark Wilhelm, CEO of Safety National, said in the statement. “We are working diligently to further expand SSIC’s offerings and add to our suite of specialized insurance solutions.”
Varis Teivans, an official at Latvia's IT Security Incidents Response Institution Cert.lv, said that the largest cyber attacks that targeted the nation's public sector in 2015 have come from groups supported by Russian authorities, reports Lsm.lv citing the Baltic News Service agency.
