A source has said that a recent recall by Volkswagen A.G. in the United States because of faulty Takata Corp. air bags is likely to cost the German automaker up to €400 million ($445 million), reported Reuters citing newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
Volkswagen and two other German automakers recently announced the Takata air bag recall in the United States.
Volkswagen is set to recall 850,000 vehicles and BMW A.G. 840,000 vehicles.
Daimler A.G. said that it will cost €340 million to recall its 840,000 vehicles.
