Taiwan quake damaged Apple chipmaker factory
Posted On: Feb. 16, 2016 12:00 AM CSTThe recent 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Taiwan has hit Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd., the firm which will manufacture the processor in Apple Inc.'s upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, reports Mac Rumors citing DigiTimes.
TSMC's plants were damaged in the quake. The company said that more than 1% of shipments could be hit. It is not clear if the damage would affect production of the iPhone 7 chip.
