Magnitude-6.7 quake hits southern Taiwan

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit southern Taiwan killing at least 23 people and injuring more than 500, reported Asia Insurance Review.

The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan said that the quake was centered in Meinong District of Kaohsiung.

Tainan-centered aftershocks were felt minutes after the quake.

The basic residential earthquake insurance coverage in Taiwan is 32%, according to statistics.
