Posted On: Feb. 2, 2016 12:00 AM CSTA report by the European Environment Agency has forecast that the continent will experience a five-fold rise in flood damage by 2050, New Scientist reported.
About a fifth of the increase is estimated to come from more rainfall, while covering floodplains with buildings and infrastructure such as railways and roads will be responsible for the remaining four-fifth of the increase.
About 27 European countries were affected by 321 floods in 2010.
