Bushfires destroy parts of World Heritage-listed forests in Tasmania

Bushfires in Australia's Tasmania have destroyed parts of World Heritage-listed forests in the state, reported The Japan Times.

Conservationists fear that the forests whose origins predate the age of the dinosaurs could be lost forever.

Officials said that 95,000 hectares of land has burned so far in a fire that has been burning for 18 days.
