Fitch Ratings Ltd. expects more mergers and acquisitions in the Bermudan insurance and reinsurance sector in 2016, reported The Royal Gazette.

"Organic growth options are limited and scale and diversification are driving a rapid pace of mergers and acquisitions activity for Bermuda insurers," Fitch said. However, the rating agency expects the consolidation trend to be slower than that seen in 2015.
