Livestock, crop damage from recent cold snap hits $23 million

Data by Taiwan's Council of Agriculture showed that livestock and crop damage from the recent cold snap in the country has hit $769.8 million Taiwanese ($23 million), reported The China Post.

The fishery industry was the worst affected, with damage totaling more than TWD 630 million. Damage to the agricultural sector amounted to TWD 134 million. Damage in Tainan City constituted 67% of national losses.
