Wildfires destroy vineyards in South Africa

Wildfires in South Africa's main wine-producing region Western Cape have destroyed several vineyards, contaminated grapes with smoke and damaged several fruit farms, reports Bloomberg.

"About 2,800 hectares (6,919 acres) of land has been burnt," in four days, an official said.

The fires have now been controlled, added the official.

Full damage from the wildfires has not been assessed yet.
