South Korean ministry files criminal case against local head of Volkswagen

South Korea's environment ministry is filing a criminal complaint against Johannes Thammer, the managing director of Volkswagen A.G.'s local unit Audi Volkswagen Korea Ltd. over the automaker's plan to recall emissions-cheating vehicles, reports Business Standard citing news agencies.

The ministry said that the plan submitted by Audi Volkswagen Korea for recalling the vehicles is unacceptable and lacked key information.

The ministry said that the plan failed to explain how the problem had occurred and how it would be fixed.
