Fifth Third taps industry veteran to lead insurance services

Howard McClure has joined Cincinnati-based financial services company Fifth Third Bancorp as senior vice president and head of insurance services, Fifth Third announced Wednesday.

Mr. McClure previously served as president of Palmer & Cay of Texas L.L.C., a position he assumed last August when Atlanta-based Palmer & Cay opened its Dallas office. Before that, he served as regional managing director of Wells Fargo Insurance's Southwest region.

He will report to Lars Anderson, Fifth Third's chief operating officer.

“Howard McClure is the perfect individual to help Fifth Third evaluate and launch strategic initiatives to further grow our insurance presence,” said Fifth Third President and CEO Greg D. Carmichael in a statement announcing the appointment.
