Nuclear power plants in 20 countries vulnerable to cyber attacks: Study

A study by the Nuclear Threat Initiative has revealed that 20 countries with nuclear power plants do not have government regulations requiring minimal protection of the facilities against cyber attacks, reports The New York Times.

These nations include North Korea, Mexico, Israel, Egypt, China and Argentina. The study found that 24 nations still have more than 2.2 pounds of weapon-usable nuclear material and much of this material is at risk of theft due to vulnerabilities in cyber security.
