USI Insurance Services acquires Houston broker

USI Insurance Services L.L.C. on Friday said it has acquired Houston-based Healthcare Liability Solutions L.L.C.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Healthcare Liability Solutions is a property/casualty brokerage that customizes insurance programs for health care organizations and providers that specialize in professional liability insurance, Valhalla, New York-based USI Insurance Services said in a statement.

Under the leadership of current president Denise D. Barnes, Healthcare Liability Solutions’ Houston office and its 20 employees will operate under the USI Insurance Services banner, according to a USI Insurance Services spokeswoman.

“We are excited to welcome Denise and her team to the USI family. Their strong insurance knowledge, long-term relationships and technical expertise in healthcare regulations complement our USI ONE Advantage platform,” Michael J. Sicard, USI Insurance Services’ chairman, president and CEO, said in the statement.

USI Holdings Corp. is the eighth-largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
