Former NAPSLO President Kurt Bingeman dies

Kurt Bingeman, 66, a former president of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices Ltd., died at his home Monday, NAPSLO said.

Mr. Bingeman, who was president of Kansas City, Missouri-based NAPSLO in 1991-92, was a majority owner and chairman and CEO of Buffalo, New York-based wholesaler Russell Bond & Co. Inc. Mr. Bingeman began his career with Russell Bond in 1972 and purchased the firm in 1983, NAPSLO said Wednesday in a statement.

He was also a partner in Chevy Chase, Maryland-based Access Funding L.L.C., which offers insurance premium financing through insurance brokers.

In addition to serving as NAPSLO president, Mr. Bingeman served on the NAPSLO board as a director from 1987-1993 and had continued to serve on the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Education Foundation board as a director since 1991, among other professional activities, NAPSLO said.

“Kurt's commitment to our industry and NAPSLO was invaluable, and he will be greatly missed as a dedicated professional and exceptional volunteer to the Association's efforts for many, many years,” NAPSLO Executive Director Brady Kelley said in the statement.
